God promises to be found by those who look for Him with their whole heart.

What does “Seeking” mean in Jeremiah 29:13?
Jeremiah wrote these words to exiles in Babylon, far from home and unsure of the future. God ties the promise to searching with all the heart, which means honest and wholehearted looking.

The people who first heard this promise were far from home, living in a foreign land, and wondering whether God had forgotten them. God's answer, through Jeremiah, is full of hope. Ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. The promise is not that God will be hard to find. It is that those who look for Him honestly, without holding back, will not look in vain.
Notice the phrase with all your heart. Half-hearted looking treats God as one option among many, and it rarely finds much. Whole-hearted seeking sets aside time, attention, and honesty. If you feel far from God today, this verse is an invitation to begin again. Choose a simple pattern: a few minutes each morning to read, pray, and listen. Ask Him to show Himself, and expect Him to answer. He has never asked anyone to search for someone who is hiding.
