Ordinary moments, like sharing a meal, can become the place where we recognize Christ.

What does “Recognized” mean in Luke 24:35?
The word known means recognized. The travelers say Jesus was known to them in the breaking of bread, at the table and in the simple act of sharing food.
Going deeper
When the two travelers reached Emmaus, they urged Jesus to stay for the evening. At the table, He took bread, blessed it, broke it, and gave it to them. Luke says their eyes were opened, and they knew Him. Then He was gone. They rushed back to Jerusalem, about seven miles, to tell the others how He had been known to them in the breaking of bread. It was an ordinary meal that became a moment of recognition.
Christ often shows Himself in the everyday: at a shared meal, a kind conversation, or a moment of hospitality. Their invitation to a stranger opened the door. Extend that kind of welcome this week. Share a meal with someone, and notice how God may meet you there. Also give thanks before you eat, and let the simple act remind you that He is present in the smallest parts of the day. Watch for Him at your own table.
