The writer says, without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Faith is not complicated here. It means believing that God is real and that He is good enough to respond to those who look for Him. The word diligently suggests effort and persistence. God is pleased by people who keep on seeking Him.
That can be freeing. You do not need perfect knowledge to please God. You need to trust that He is and that He rewards seeking. If your faith feels small, take heart. Take one step of seeking today: read, pray, ask, or listen. God is not a distant judge but a rewarder. Believe that He responds, and seek Him with your whole heart. That kind of faith brings Him delight. Come to Him expecting, and He will not disappoint you.
