The heart of the Christian life is knowing Christ, including the power of His resurrection.
“That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;”Philippians 3:10 (KJV)
What does “Knowing Him” mean in Philippians 3:10?
The Greek word for know means to know by experience, not just facts. Paul wants a real, lived acquaintance with Jesus and with the power that raised Him.

Paul had every credential a person could want, and he counted it all as loss compared to one thing. That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings. He wants more than knowledge about Jesus. He wants to know Him. And he links three things together: the power of resurrection, the fellowship of suffering, and likeness to Christ in His death. In Paul's experience, the power and the cost came together.
This is a humbling and hopeful verse. It says that resurrection power is not only for the end of time. It is available now, for those who walk closely with Jesus, including in difficult seasons. Ask yourself whether you know Him as a friend, or only as an idea. Take time today to talk with Him, not just to ask for things, but to listen and to enjoy His company. Knowing Him is the greatest treasure.
