God promises to carry His people from youth to old age and never to put them down.
“And even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you.”Isaiah 46:4 (KJV)
What does “Carried” mean in Isaiah 46:4?
God speaks to people who had been carrying idols, and He contrasts that with His own care. He is the One who carries them, from the beginning to the end of life.

God says, even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you. Idols have to be carried by their worshippers. The living God carries His people. And He promises to do it to the end: to old age and to gray hair. It is a picture of lifelong faithfulness that does not depend on how strong or capable we are.
This is especially comforting for anyone who is growing older, or feeling weak or overwhelmed. You are not being asked to carry yourself. God has made you, and He carries what He has made. Think about where you feel you are carrying too much alone. Ask God to carry it, and let yourself be carried by Him and by the people He gives you. It is not weakness to be held. It is what He has promised.
