Habakkuk wrote in a time of injustice and confusion. God gave him a promise that looks ahead to a future where the knowledge of His glory covers the earth completely, like water covering the sea.

Amid a world that looked chaotic, God promised, the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea. The picture is total. Water does not partly cover the sea, it fills it from shore to shore. In the same way, the knowledge of God's glory will one day fill the world. That is the future toward which history is heading.
That promise gives our service a direction. Every act of kindness, every word of truth, and every prayer for the nations is a small drop in the sea that God will fill. We are not carrying the whole load, only our part in a much greater story. Ask how you could add one drop this week: a prayer for a country, a gift to a mission, a conversation about God. Keep your eyes on the promise, and keep pouring. Keep pouring, and trust Him with the filling.
