The word unsearchable means beyond finding out, too deep to be fully measured. David says that no matter how much we learn about God, there is always more.

Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable. David is a king who has spent his life learning about God, and here he admits that he has barely begun. The greatness of God cannot be measured or mapped. There is always more to discover and always more reason to worship. That is good news, since it means that knowing Him will never become boring or finished.
This can free us from the pressure to have God figured out. We do not need to understand everything to worship Him rightly. In fact, part of worship is bowing before what is bigger than our minds. Take a few minutes today to think of something about God that amazes you: His patience, His creativity, His mercy. Thank Him for it, and admit that there is far more. Let wonder replace the need for control. There is always more to know.
