Life is better shared, because a friend helps us up when we fall.

Ecclesiastes is a book of honest observation about life, and here the observation is simple. Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow. Partnership makes work more fruitful, and it makes failure less final. When we stumble, someone is nearby to help us up. That is a great gift, and it is easy to take for granted.
The verse also carries a warning: woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. Many people are quietly alone in their struggles, whether from pride, shame, or circumstance. If that is you, consider reaching out to a friend, a pastor, or a small group. If you are not alone, look around for someone who is. A visit, a call, or an invitation could be the hand that helps them stand.
