God asks us to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with Him.
“He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?”Micah 6:8 (KJV)
What does “Service” mean in Micah 6:8?
Three words carry the verse. Mishpat is justice. Chesed is steadfast, covenant-keeping mercy. The word for humbly means to walk carefully and modestly with God.
Going deeper
Micah answers what God wants from people who bring sacrifices and ritual. The answer is a way of living. Justice is the public part, treating people fairly. Mercy is the personal part, showing loyal love to those in need. Humility keeps both from turning into pride. Serving is not a program we run. It is walking with God in a way that lifts others.
