The risen Jesus prepared breakfast for tired friends and invited them to come and eat.

What does “Come and dine” mean in John 21:12?
The Greek word translated dine means to have breakfast. Jesus had a fire and fish ready on the shore before the disciples even arrived.
Going deeper
Some of the disciples had gone back to fishing, and they had worked all night and caught nothing. At dawn, a stranger on the shore told them where to cast their net, and it filled with fish. When they came to land, they found a fire of coals, fish, and bread already prepared. Jesus said, Come and dine. The risen Lord of the universe was cooking breakfast for His friends. It is one of the most tender pictures in the Gospels.
Notice that no one dared to ask who He was, because they knew it was the Lord. This is what the resurrection makes possible: the presence of Jesus in ordinary moments, with a welcome instead of a rebuke. If you are worn out from a long night of your own, whether work or worry, hear His invitation to come and eat. Rest is His gift. Before you tackle your day, take a few minutes to receive from Him, and then go.
