God can do far more than we ask or imagine, working through His power in us.

What does “Beyond what we ask” mean in Ephesians 3:20-21?
Paul ends a prayer with a burst of praise. He describes God's ability as exceeding abundantly above all we ask or think, and he connects it to the power that already works within believers.

Paul writes, Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages. The phrase above all that we ask or think is striking. Our biggest requests and our wildest imaginations fall short of what God can do. The power is not far off. It works in us, meaning that God's ability is at work in ordinary believers.
This encourages us to pray boldly and to expect God to work in ways beyond our plans. It also reminds us that the outcome is for His glory. Think of something you have been praying about in a small way. Consider praying bigger, asking God for more than you thought possible. Then stay open to how He might work through you. Give Him glory for what He has done, and for what He will do beyond what you can imagine.
