David declares that the earth and all its fullness belong to the LORD. That includes the planet, its resources, and every person who lives here.

David begins a psalm of worship with a bold claim: The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. Nothing is outside His ownership. Not the land, not the seas, not the nations, not the people. That means our possessions are on loan, and our responsibility is to use them well. It also means that every person we meet belongs to Him.
This shapes how we serve the world. We care for creation because it is His. We care for people, whatever their background, because they belong to Him. Consider one way to be a good steward this week: reduce waste, tend a garden, give away what you no longer use, or pick up litter in your neighborhood. And consider one person you might treat with new respect, remembering whose they are. Gratitude for creation is a form of worship, and care for it is a way of obeying. Choose one small act of care today.
