When strength fails, God Himself is enough for us.
“Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee. My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.”Psalm 73:25-26 (KJV)
What does “Portion” mean in Psalm 73:25-26?
The psalmist calls God his portion, a word that speaks of the share of land given to each family in Israel. He says that even when body and heart fail, God remains his strength and his inheritance forever.

Psalm 73 begins with an honest struggle. The writer nearly lost his footing because he envied people who seemed to do well without God. Then he entered God's presence and saw things differently. By verse 25 he can say, whom have I in heaven but thee? There is none upon earth that I desire beside thee. His heart has settled on the one thing that will not fade.
My flesh and my heart faileth, he admits. He knows his limits. But God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever. In Israel, a portion was the land that provided for a family's future. The psalmist says God is that for him, and more. If you are worn down by comparing yourself to others, or by losses that leave you weak, let this be your prayer. When everything else runs low, the Lord is enough, and His supply does not run out.
