Christ has set us free, and we are meant to live in that freedom.

What does “Freedom” mean in Galatians 5:1?
The Greek word for liberty is eleutheria, which means freedom. A yoke of bondage is a heavy harness, a picture of slavery.

Paul wrote to believers who were being pressured to add rules and rituals to their faith in Jesus. His answer is firm: Christ has set us free, so stand fast. The freedom He offers is not a license to do anything we like. It is freedom from guilt, from fear, and from trying to earn what has already been given. It is freedom to love and to serve.
Many of us slip back into a yoke without realizing it. We measure ourselves by performance, worry about what others think, or carry old guilt that Christ has already forgiven. Standing fast means refusing to be re-enslaved. Ask yourself whether there is a burden you have taken back that Christ has already lifted. Bring it to Him today, and choose to live in the freedom that He purchased for you at great cost. Freedom is not the absence of responsibility. It is the ability to love without fear, and that is a gift worth guarding.
