The fullness of joy is found in God's presence.

What does “Presence” mean in Psalm 16:11?
The word presence in Hebrew is literally face, and it speaks of being before God face to face. The psalmist says that joy in His presence is complete, not partial.
Going deeper
David writes with a settled confidence that the path of life leads toward God. He does not describe a path that God simply points to. He describes one that God shows him, step by step. At the end of it stands something better than a reward. Fullness of joy is found in the presence of God Himself. Our deepest longing is not for what God gives but for God.
That changes how we think about prayer and worship. They are not tasks to check off. They are opportunities to be with the One in whose presence joy is complete. The psalm also says there are pleasures at His right hand for evermore, which points beyond this life to a joy that does not end. Take a few moments today simply to be with Him. Put away the request list, quiet your thoughts, and let it be enough to be in His presence.
