He says that anyone in Christ is a new creation. The old things pass away, and the new has come. This is a gift, not an achievement. It is what God does in a person, and it is not limited to those who have their lives together.

That does not mean growth is instant or that struggles disappear. It means our identity has changed, and we are now moving in a new direction.
