We can begin each day by asking God to help us hear Him and know the way.
“Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.”Psalm 143:8 (KJV)
What does “Morning” mean in Psalm 143:8?
David asks God to let him hear His lovingkindness in the morning, and to show him the way to walk. The word trust marks the reason: he puts his confidence in God before the day begins.

Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust. David begins the day by listening for God's love before anything else. It sets the tone for everything. If the first voice we hear each morning is the news, or a list of worries, our day tends to start with fear. David chooses to begin with God's steadfast love, and then he asks for direction: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk.
The last phrase of the verse is worth pausing on: for I lift up my soul unto thee. It is an image of offering, raising up our inner life toward God. You could practice this each morning. Before you check your phone, take a moment to pray these words. Ask to hear His love, to know the way, and to give Him the day. A simple morning habit can change the whole shape of your hours.
