When God asks who will go, the right answer is: here am I, send me.
“Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.”Isaiah 6:8 (KJV)
What does “Here am I” mean in Isaiah 6:8?
Isaiah has just seen a vision of God's holiness and has been cleansed and forgiven. In that moment he hears God ask who will go, and he answers with willingness.

Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me. It is worth noticing the order in Isaiah's experience. He first sees the holiness of God and is overwhelmed by his own sinfulness. God cleanses him. Only then does he hear the call. His response is not the reaction of a person who feels qualified, but of one who has been forgiven and is grateful.
God is still asking, whom shall I send? Not everyone is sent to the same place or task. Some go far, some stay close, and all are needed. Willingness is the beginning. You do not need to know all the details. You can say, here am I, and then watch for what He shows you next. This week, offer yourself to God in prayer, and be ready for a nudge toward someone who needs help.
