When we put God's kingdom first, the rest of life falls into its right place.

What does “First things” mean in Matthew 6:33?
Jesus says this at the end of His teaching about worry. To seek first means to make something the top priority, arranging everything else around it.
Going deeper
Jesus has just told His listeners not to worry about food, clothing, or tomorrow. Then He gives an alternative: seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. The order matters. When we chase our needs first, we grow anxious. When we put God's kingdom first, we find that He cares for the rest. This is not a formula for getting whatever we want but a way of ordering our lives around what matters most.
Seeking first the kingdom is practical. It shows up in how we spend our first hour, our money, and our attention. Ask what is first in your life right now. What would change if God's purposes came first this week? Choose one specific thing to put first: a time of prayer before the day begins, a gift set aside before the bills, or a service you commit to. Trust Him to take care of the rest.
