Jesus came to give life in fullness, not just to rescue us from harm.

What does “Abundantly” mean in John 10:10?
The Greek word for abundantly describes something that overflows and goes beyond what is needed. Jesus contrasts His purpose with that of a thief, who comes only to take.

Jesus says that a thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy, while He has come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. It is easy to hear this as a promise of an easy life, but that is not what He says. Abundant life is not the absence of trouble. It is a life full of meaning, connection with God, and love, even in hard days. It is life as it was meant to be.
Many people settle for a smaller life than the one Christ offers, filled with busyness, anxiety, or numbness. Ask what has been stealing your life. It may be worry, resentment, or a habit. Then ask what Jesus wants to give you in its place. Take one step toward the fuller life He describes. It might be spending time in prayer, mending a relationship, or serving someone in need. He came to give life, and He gives it generously.
