God is before all things and after all things, and He holds every moment.

What does “The beginning and the end” mean in Revelation 1:8?
Alpha and Omega are the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet. God uses them to say that He is the source and the goal of everything, the One who is, was, and is to come.

God declares, I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. He is not part of the story. He is the whole of it, from first to last. Nothing began without Him, and nothing will end apart from Him. He is also called the Almighty, the One with all power. There is no situation outside His reach.
That is comforting when the future feels uncertain. The One who was there at the beginning will be there at the end, and He is present now. Whatever chapter you are in, He is already in the next one. Take a few moments today to say, Lord, You are the beginning and the end of my story. Place your worries about the future into His hands. The Almighty is not surprised by anything. Rest in the One who holds every chapter of your life.
