We can pray for God to open doors so that the message can be shared.
“Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds:”Colossians 4:3 (KJV)
What does “Open door” mean in Colossians 4:3?
Paul asks the Colossians to pray for him and his team. He does not ask for comfort or release. He asks for opportunities to speak about Christ.

Paul writes, Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds. Notice that Paul was in prison when he wrote this. Yet he did not ask primarily for freedom. He asked for a door of utterance, an open opportunity to speak. He also cares more about the message than his own comfort.
We can pray this way for ourselves and for others. Ask God to open a door this week: a conversation, an invitation, a chance to serve. And pray for those who are sharing the good news in difficult places, including missionaries and pastors. Then be ready to walk through the door when it opens. Doors often appear in ordinary moments, and we notice them when we have been praying for them. Pray specifically, and stay watchful. Doors often open quietly, and the prepared heart notices them. Be ready.
