Our Story

The Light of Christ Christian Church began as a Bible study in the living room of Pastor Allen Wesley. That gathering grew into a monthly luncheon. As more people joined, our regional minister at the time, Rev. Glen Stewart, proposed forming a committee to consider a new church in Memphis. After prayer, training, and coaching with new church ministries in Tennessee, LOCCC was born. Our inaugural worship service was held on August 26, 2012 at the Malco Studio on the Square in Midtown Memphis. Since that day, God has sustained us with grace and growth. Today we celebrate over a decade of faithful ministry in Memphis and beyond.

Our Mission

Love God

We worship faithfully on Sundays, give our resources and talents, and nurture our personal relationship with God through Scripture, prayer, and devotion.

Love Others

We cultivate meaningful godly relationships with family, friends, and community, modeling the teachings of Jesus and His two great commandments: Love God and love your neighbor.

Serve the World

As a body of believers, we give back to our community through monetary resources, service, and spreading the Gospel. Led by the Holy Spirit, we use our gifts to serve practically while inviting all people to share in the faith experience at LOCCC.

Meet Pastor Allen Wesley

 

Dr. Allen Wesley is a long-time Memphis resident, pharmacist, and servant leader. He holds a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Tennessee and a Master of Divinity from Memphis Theological Seminary. A 30-year resident of Memphis, he currently serves as a staff pharmacist for CVS Health.

Dr. Wesley was formerly Associate Pastor of Community Faith Christian Church before founding LOCCC. Since its first worship service in August 2012, he has faithfully served as Senior Pastor. He teaches that God desires His people to live balanced lives, transformed by the Holy Spirit within the context of loving, godly relationships.
